Are you new to folk dancing and eager to learn more quickly? Here are some groups taught by some of the same teachers as in the Pasadena Folk Dance Co-op. These groups are not necessarily beginners' groups, but the small class size and excellent teaching can help you progress faster.
Valerie Daley teaches international folk dancing at the Ventura YMCA during the day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. For more information contact her at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Foothill International Folk Dancers
Jan and Marc Rayman have begun a new social international folk dance group in La Canada Flintridge on Thursday nights. They resume after summer recess September 8, 2016. Foothill International Folk Dancers usually dances from 7:30 - 9:30 with more advanced dances being presented after 8:30.
Sometimes they teach, review, and dance some of the same dances coming up on Friday nights. Learn it from them and dance it at both locations. If you would like them to teach a particular dance, send an email to: JanRayman@charter.net. We also take requests from our Dance List/Videos page of our website: Foothill.Dance.
The cost is $5. Each evening's teaching and dancing will be adjusted to the dance experience of the participants. They meet at the Community Center of La Cañada at 4469 Chevy Chase, La Cañada, CA 91011. The large dance floor has been refurbished and the ample parking is free. For more information visit http://Foothill.Dance or contact JanRayman@charter.net.

Vintage Israeli Dancing
One Saturday per month (click for schedule), 8:15 p.m. to midnight, $6.00
Anisa's School of Dance
14252 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, California
Telephone: 818-881-7494 • E-mail: Vintage Israeli Dancing
We meet in a nice air-conditioned dance studio, and it has a WOODEN floor. The room is in the back building, down the walkway, and upstairs. Yes, it's worth the drive out to the Valley, for those who don't live in it! (It takes about 20 minutes to drive to the studio from West LA on a typical Saturday night.)
There's no other program like this one, at least in Southern California. We attempt to get to all requested Israeli dances, no matter how popular they were when they were new, as long as they were choreographed before 2001.
If you want a dance for which you know we don't have the music, just bring us the CD or tape. The rest of the program will consist of a wide selection of older dances; mostly from the 60's, 70's, and 80's; and we vary what we play each month.
The program is all-circle until 9:30, and then a mix of circle dances and short sets of couple dances until closing. Join us in dancing to NONE of the latest hit songs from Israel!
